During World War II, an aircraft flying a covert mission from south of the border, to the United States west coast, developed engine trouble just minutes from reaching land. The aircraft was not going to make their destination and an unscheduled landing would bring curiousity, and the authorities. The cargo they were carrying mustn't be discovered or seen by anyone except for the crew.
The captain of the aircraft had to make a decision concerning their valuable cargo, time was running out. He gave the order to dump the cargo overboard, into the sea. The crew started dumping the cargo out of the aircraft's doors, but they did not manage to complete their dumping. They were now approaching the shore and the rest of the cargo would surely hit the beach and further inland, somewhere. The pilot made a mental note of the aircraft's position.
This account was told to us by the pilot of the aircraft. He was one of the members of the treasure hunting group, that we had been hired to locate a "buried cache." By his accounts and description of the location and aircraft's headings, we knew the area. We (Other Plane), would take a trip out there.
When we got there, it did not take us long to locate the exact area. The cargo that landed in the sea is still there and we could follow the line of the cargo laying on the ocean floor. The cargo that landed on the beach is still there but buried under lots of sand (this happened during World War II). We picked up another target on a "private land" not far from the beach. A closer scrutinizing of the target revealed that someone had found and removed the cargo. A deep depression of where the that cargo landed and digging had been done, was noticeable. Further scrutinizing of the remaining targets revealed that they were still there. When our ongoing projects are completed, we will take another trip out there.
