I am a mormon and, as such, I believe that people are endowed with certain gifts. I don't believe that they have to be a mormon to exercise or realize those gifts. If your gifts are of a paranormal nature, I can accept that. I had something that happened to me over twenty-five years ago. It's one of those things that, as time goes on, you begin to doubt that it really happened or that you are exagerating the facts in your mind. I recently spoke to a friend who was with me at the time and he remembers everything the same as I do, we were glad to know that we weren't insane.
As I said, I am a mormon and I was called to serve a mission in Italy. My companion and I were trying to contact inactive members. Our troubles started when we went to a house where the husband was a member but the wife wasn't. When we knocked on the door, the wife answered. Her eyes went wide and she reached out and literally dragged us into the house. When she closed the door, the hairs on the back of my neck literally stood on end. She explained to us that her husband had completely left both the catholic and mormon church and was dabbling in black magic. I laughed at that and she went into another room and brought back an alter stone that was covered with black candle wax and what she said was the blood from small animals that he sacrificed. She asked if we could cast the demons from her house. We said that we would try and while we prayed, we heard voices in our heads. It was similar to the sound one hears when swimming underwater and two rocks click together. You sense the sound at the base of your hear rather than hear it through your ears. The voices were tortured and threatened us with awful, horrible things.
We left the apartment and went back home to ours. We had a very spacious apartment and the beauty of the place was that you could be several rooms away and get some solitude and yet you wouldn't have to break the missionary rule that said you must never leave your companion. After we came home however, I noticed that nobody would venture away from the kitchen, the bathroom, or our bedroom. We just felt uneasy. There were several moments when you thought you saw something but it was always quickly laughed away as a bat that might have flown by the window or such.
One night I woke instantly from a deep sleep. I was wide awake and yet I had the sensation of movement. I felt like I was on a roller coaster or small open train travelling through a tunnel at a tremendous rate of speed. It scared me and all I could think was, "My spirit is leaving my body". I began to mentally fight the sensation trying to slow down the feeling. I was successful to the point where I began to feel like I was travelling backwards at the same rate of speed through the same tunnel. I reached a point where I had a sort of settling "whoomph" type feeling. Although my back was to the room. I felt very uneasy about turning around. I finally got the courage to do so. The room was dark but the was a very dark presence right beside my bed. I screamed and my companion woke and snapped on the light and said, "Did you see it?" I said that I had and he said, "I've seen it three nights in a row".
Needless to say, we moved from the apartment and left whatever was there behind us. There is a follow up to this, however. I recently met a missionary who returned from the same mission and was stationed in the same city. I asked him where he lived in the city and he told me the address. As fate would have it, twenty five years later, the missionaries moved into the very same apartment. He told me that they also had to leave because of several horrific experiences including one that he described as a posession.
