Reincarnation is to be reborn again, as another individual totally different from the individual that once breathed air. Not everyone get to be reincarnated. Reincarnation is a result of a selection process either preordained or chosen in part for the role that is yet to be played out.
Only humans are candidates for reincarnation. An individual may undergo reincarnation immediately upon their death, or may be relegated to that area of the dimension of life after death, that is located right-before heaven, to await the designated time for their reincarnation. An individual may undergo reincarnation numerous times. Some of the reincarnates will have a link to the past and knowledge of a "past life" (not necessarily their own). The purpose for their being could be related to an ongoing destination that is not yet accomplished, or to initiate decisions and choices that would insure the continued future of mankind.
