Myself and my partner have had very disturbing encounters over the past few weeks since we moved into a new apartment. My partner was awoken in the night by the sensation that someone was sitting on her chest, hindering her breathing, pinning her arms down and attempting to strangle her. This was all accompanied by a feeling of accute terror and impending doom. She tried to wake myself but to no avail until after the event. I was skeptical at first but I myself have since had a similar encounter.
Last week my partner was alone in the house when she was forceably grabbed by the neck and felt as though she was being lifted from the ground. We are becoming increasingly scared by these occurrences to the point where we find ourselves lying awake all night. We have researched the property and discovered that it is built on the site of an old church, but there was no graveyard or burials there (to our knowledge).

Encounters such as yours occur all the time. Did you ask your neighbors if they have had similar encounters?
Entities tend to "hang around" locations they were familiar with when they were alive. Your partner's encounter could very well be taken as... a reply of what could have taken place even before the old church was built there. History has proven that civilization after civilization destroy or build upon older existing structures.
Attempt verbal communication with the enitity. Inform the entity that you do not appreciate its presence or its physical manhandling (of people). Usually, the entity will not bother you again. Show no fear when communicating with the entity.
