I have been living in our house with my husband for 6 years. My twin daughters also lived here until last July when they joined the Army & Air Force. On a Sunday night shortly after going to bed I discovered that I had not taken some pills that I was supposed to take. So I went from our basement bedroom to the upstairs and got my pills without turning on the light because I didn't want anyone to see in the window when I was dressed for bed. I got the pills and was just turning to go back downstairs when I felt something was happening behind me. I turned around toward the stove only to find that one of the burners was lit and turned up high. I turned it off and returned to bed, but couldn't sleep since I knew we had not used the stove since breakfast. I had washed the stove off and made sure that everything was shut off, so we have no clue how it became lit. We had been in and out of the kitchen so many times throughout the day that if it was left on, someone would have noticed it.
Then, two nights later we went to bed early (around 8:00 PM since we had gotten up so early that day). My husband was just going to sleep and I was laying there awake . We were both still. All of a sudden a music box in a stuffed "Tiger", on the headboard, played three notes. Usually that would only happen if the last time that it was used it had run down all the way and then someone moved or bumped it. I still didn't think a lot about it until it paused for a few seconds and then played out two full lines of music. My husband, although he doesn't believe it to be anything paranormal, also heard it. We eventually went back to sleep . About 11:00 PM and again at about 1:00 AM, it started playing again by itself, and played out two full bars each time. I am not crazy, I know what I heard. I don't feel threatened so far by it. I feel peaceful after it happens.

more things are continuing to happen. Today when I got up I noticed that a razor and the holder that have been on the side of the tub for a long period of time were knocked down and laying in the tub. I didn't think a lot of that since I guess that maybe it could happen if for some reason the suction became less and it fell. But I still thought it was strange. Then I went up into our computer room. My husband had some things in there that he was going to be putting on an auciton on Ebay. Every thing was neatly in it's place when I went to bed last night. No one had beeen in there since, and the door was still closed to keep out our dog. When I went in there, one of the items that was to be for sale, was sitting out in the middle of the walkway. I couldn't have missed it the night before because I would have had to step over it. Then when I got on the computer, the clock on the computer that is always exactly correct was off by two hours. As I was sitting still at the computer I heard a noise like everything in the tub of stuff that was for auction had shifted greatly, but when I looked at it I couldn't see any change.
This spooked me a little and I went into the other room and let my dogs out of a kennel so that I wouldn't feel alone. They always run ahead of me down the hall once I go to the computer room and are the frist ones in the door. My male dog was first in line. But when he got to the door where the other stuff had just happened, he stopped at the doorway, whined and looked at me. I motioned for him to go ahead on in to the room. He paused for a minute. Then his head picked up and he was happy-go-lucky and ran into the room and started playing like usual. It seemed as though whatever had scared or stopped him was now gone. I have heard that animals and small children are a lot more able to see spirits. It it sure seemed like Jake saw something. I did later try to talk to the spirit or entity and tell him/her that I didn't mind him/her being there as long as no one was hurt. I also said that I would like to know who it was, male or female, young or old, etc. I know I'm not going crazy, although my husband would rather believe that then believe in supernatural, eventho he himself witnessed the music box playing 3 times by itself.
I am very interested in knowing more about what is happening. I thought that it had just started but my sister-in-law mentioned that maybe this had been happening all along, but now that my kids have moved out, it is more noticible since there aren't as many around to be making noises. Just now as I am typing this, my female dog looked up and started growling as if someone is there, but I see no one.
