I had a odd dream the other night. While dreaming, I got the weird feeling that I had been there before. This is what happened:

I think I was a cop or a federal officer. I was taking a guy out of what may have been a church. We get outside and the guy get's loose and get's my gun. He shoots my partner before I can get to him. He manages to shoot me four times. I felt the pain and the anxiety, but I have never been shot before. The guy manages to kill a couple other innocent people. I am trying to play dead by taking shallow breaths, but I can't because of the pain. He then notices that I am not quite dead yet. I am really scared. He proceeds to ask me "So, how do you want to die?". He is standing over me with an axe or sledgehammer, I can't really tell which. I told the guy something to the effect of, "Screw you!". Then I woke up. I haven't had a dream this vivid in a long time.

I woke up shaking. I was really scared. The thought of this dream has been bugging me since I had the dream. It was so real. And I know I had been through that before. I am only 25 now, and I know I was older in the dream. I don't know what to make of it. Got any ideas?

Often, we see and hear things that we do not pay any mind to. These kinds of informations are embedded deep within our subconscious and the only time that it can be triggered, is a combination for the right things to happen when we're asleep. The overall environment is a major factor into retrieving these embedded memories, to include the physical and emotional status of the person. Once the dream starts, it can be a combination of things that you saw a day before or years back. These cut and paste operations in your head, can be so vivid that the overall physical body will react to the dream and the emotions being played.

Some people can actually orchestrate their own dreams to a certain point. Some see themselves being a part of the dream... sometimes as a "observer" or as a "participant".
