I really enjoy reading your responses to the letters that people send in. First, I want to congratulate you on telling people that the Ouija Board is NOT a game. I really respect that. But, the reason I am writing is that about reincarnation.
I was raised Christian and I still am. I would love to believe in it since it is an extremely romantic notion. When asking my parents if reincarnation exists they always told me that the Bible states that man is appointed only one life.
I wanted to get your opinion on something. Some of the people who wrote you believed that they have lived past lives. In some instances, you were able to tell them that they were NOT reincarnates. How is it that some people are and some aren't? For instance, I've heard of the term "old soul". What exactly is that and how can you tell if someone is or not? I guess out of shear curiosity can you tell me if I am reincarnated? I would have to say that I do not believe that I am. I guess I am a skeptic. I do however respect your beliefs and would NEVER chide anyone for something that they believe. Thank you for your time.

Even a highly religious person may harbour skepticism on a lot of things. Their belief in their religion is the thread that holds them together in their world and anything short of that, tends to be looked at as "the work of the devil".
Then you have a religious person but this individual also has an "open minded attitude" and the willingness to learn more beyond religion. Unknown forces may influence a change in their outlook in life and their perspectives on a lot of things. That will cause turmoil within themselves and may shake the foundations of their religious beliefs.
"Our Friends" came to us unexpectedly while we were into treasure hunting. At first it was very hard to grasp what was happening and why it was happening. We were very skeptical and questioned everything. "Show me, make me a believer". In time, we were given insights to events yet to come and when the day arrived, sure enough... it happened just as "our friends" had said. Kind of scary at first but as more and more of what they told us came true, "we believed". We soon had to make that decision we knew we had to make. That decision would take us into the "Other Plane". To learn the unknown and to peek into the past and also into the future, to be able to to say that a person is reincarnated or posseses a certain gift, talent, skill, and many many others... under the paranormal umbrella.
To say that a person is gifted or has been reincarnated 5 times is not a "big deal", but merely a way to identify them and let them be aware that some of the things that they're experiencing was caused by a burp, a glitz on a higher level of reprogramming. Some people believed very strongly (as if possessed) about reincarnated, that their subconscious thoughts would take over and they would recall having multiple past lives. Regardles of what they say, in the end the answer will always be the same, "Yes" or "NO".
Some cultures believe that everyone is reincarnated and are born again, after death, as a new person. "Our friends" say, "That is not true". Some individuals are preselected and some are reincarnated based on "not fulfilling or completing their purpose in their previous life".
If an individual's purpose is to "murder someone", and that individual murders someone, than that individual has fulfilled their purpose. Reincarnation would not take place for that individual. The question could be asked, "What if that individual murdered the wrong person?" It does not matter, the purpose was to murder someone.
Another example... An individual's purpose is to become a highly respected scientist but was killed in an auto accident before achieving the distinction of a highly respected scientist. That individual's purpose was never fulfilled and therefore could be a candidate for reincarnation. Whether the purpose is that of a highly respected scientist or an average achiever, "we are all born with a purpose". Whether we have accomplished our purpose or not, we will know that, "at the time of our death". The question could be asked, "What about the individual who is said to have died instantly?" The individual's physical body functions have shutdown but the individual's brain still functions a micro-second longer and in that time, the individual/brain has reconciled its fate.
The term "old soul" is associated with someone having a past life. That is not the case with you. This is your first life.
