My parents built the house I live in so there is no sordid past unless it lays in the history of the land in the northen suburbs of the twin cities. I am now two years into college but while I lived at home there was a definite presence localized in the basement where my bedroom was. I never sensed animosity, though he scared the wits out of me and my cat frequently. I thought he may have been a potective entity, or someone from a past life. I only bring it up now because my eleven year-old sister, who now has my old bedroom, senses him too and we have the same description of him: tall, slender, and dark. She also thinks he is here to watch over us. Is he just hanging out in our house, or does he have any specific purpose? I would love to find out what you can tell me and my sister.

It's often that people or builders will buy an entire lot and just put houses onto it and not really knowing the history of the property. If the history is horrendous then the people living on it will be aware of the existance of the entity/s in time. Sometimes the entity wouldn't mind the occupant and they will never feel it. On the otherhand, there are times that the entity will let it be known to the resedence that they're around.
The feeling of something present will be the indicators of things. They really do not know how to approach the living. Now the humans, because they are being subjected into this experience will either get scared or feel very uncomfortable.
Do not get scared because this 74 year old fellow just decided to let his presence be known. He means no harm. Just give him respect and he will do the same. Talk to him. He will like that. He died in the area over 100 years ago.
