I am a mother of a nine and a half year old. I grew up with a Grandmother who had the power of dreams and am not afraid of the paranormal. I have known that my daughter had powers of the above norm since shortly after she was born. Last summer I said to her that I knew she saw things that the rest of us do not see and if she needed to talk to me I would understand. She in turn looked at me and said, "yes, I see colors around people". A few days later, she said that she is starting to see more colors. I was not surprised because as an infant she would not go to people, if she did not know they were "ok". She is starting to ask questions like what does this color mean on the other hand she says she knows when I am angry and have not said a word because of my color ... same for her uncle, my brother.
I do not want her to be afraid of her gift and would like to know more since I do not see colors myself, but I do sense things and dream sometimes. I would like to know if there is a book that I could read or if someone could give me more information. Thank you for you time.

Informing your daughter early is a very wise move but when you do that make sure that the information you are providing to her did not come from stories or beliefs. There are a lot of people who can see auras. But none of them can truly relate the colors that they see and that will be a burden for them for years to come. The time will come for her to pursue, scrutinize, understand and respect her gift. Like she knows when you're mad ... your aura will change from what color to what other color. Or will she be able to say that the person is sick because there's a strong color pulsating into the contaminated area.
Interpreting auras is not truly defined yet, even though there are plenty of books out there with variations and interpretations representing beliefs and the pro's and con's of colors... i.e., black is bad and white is good.
