My fiance has a 7 year old daughter whom I love dearly. She has found his old Ouija Board and insists on wanting to play it. I have told her repeatedly, No and that for her to use it she must understand it first. My fiance will sometimes laugh and say I'm being overprotective but then in the same breath tell me he believes in them. To me, if this is the case, then he would respect it more and not treat it as a toy like Milton Bradley does.
I have had a terrible experience with a board in the past, probably due to lack of knowledge and understanding and even though they fascinate me, I would probably never use one again. I have tried repeatedly to find information on them but I have been unsuccessful. I found a book once years ago and the accounts in it horrified me, yet I know that there has to be some good, it can't all be bad. Anyway, I do not want her to be afraid of the spiritual side of life but I do want her to understand it first before she tries to jump right into it. I am not a person who believes in pushing my beliefs on anyone but I feel as if I have to so she does not go into this blindly.
Do you think I'm am being overbearing by telling her what I have seen and believe, also do you think she is to young to start relating mild stories to? Last but not least do you know where I can find information on Ouija so that later in life if she does decide to experiance it, she won't be going in blindly like I did? Thank you for reading this. I hope in some way you can help.

The Ouija Board is a device/means to communicate with the "other side". The word "play" with the board is no longer used, by the "serious" believer, in the paranormal. If one wants to "play", then they should expect the "other side" to play also.
You are correct in your belief that information and understanding is essential, before involving oneself in anything (including using the board). Excepting the results because of one's action/purpose... is for the individual alone. We don't know where you may find information on the Ouija Board (as we do not use it ourselves - we use a different device). You could surf the Internet under Ouija Board and see what you come up with. Here's another you could try, this url lists over 400 paranormal sites: .
Note: As for age... no one is too young to experience the unusual. We receive numerous email from readers (youngest so far is 7 years old), to teenagers. In today's society, sex starts at an early age and if you don't start communicating with her about "sex", she will go to her friends or someone else to find out. The answers that she get's may not be complete and therefore embarrassing results will happen... your choice.

I wanted to thank you very much for your quick responce. Your points and examples are very good ones. It had never crossed my mind to compare it to the subject of sex wich we discuss with her freely. My first experiance with an entity was when I was around three, my great grandmother decided to stay around for awhile after she passed away. My grandmother and her never got along well in life so my great grandmother seemed to stay around just to scare her half to death but I always felt so comfortable in that house. I guess where I am trying to get to with this is that I knew what it was then and I'm sure my soon to be daughter will understand and appreciate it as well. Thank you again.
