Alot of people share your experience and 99 percent of them will not be able to determine the true meaning of what they see. On top of that, we percieve things in stereotype mode like big and small, black and white, and good and evil. This does not help in interpreting the true nature of the aura.
However, we are trying to segregate each area, along with variations of major colors and see which color represent a particular portion of the body. This is currently only in the experimental stage and is limited to Alternative Healing. Example, a gifted member will monitor the person and record the colors, while other another gifted member performs the treatment. Several factors must also be considered during the process; the size, formation and intensity of the aura must be considered.
Overall, the process is still in the infant stage and it will take some time to acquire consistent information that will be of benefit.
Pertaining to the paranormal, we are also looking into the interpretation of the aura of an individual. We have come to the conclusion that the aura is a composite of the individual, indicating an exact and accurate status of the individual at any point in time or day. Example: mood, emotion, stress, fatigue, illness, happyness, level of confidence, etc.
Our ability to measure a person's aura (vertically and horizontally), as to how much of an area the aura extends from the body. A well-rounded aura, as in a ball, suggests that the person is stable and in good health. On the other hand, a less than a well-rounded aura suggests that a problem exists.
Our database continues to grow as we continue to gain some knowledge as to its meaning. However, this takes time.
