A lot of people can see auras whether they know the meaning of it or not. Loosing the ability to see auras is also normal and there's a bunch of reasons why a person looses a gift. A lack of focus or practice could be the main reason. Distractions of everyday life, i.e., work, personal and health problems, to name a few.
A gift does not completely go away but only surpressed temporarily. The individual's own awareness, focus and practice will bring the gift back. "I used to be able to do that but I can't do it now". If one did it before, they should be able to do it again (with some slight adjustments).
