I am a strong believer that demons and other spirits of that sort can slip into peoples body's. My best friend's mother had to get an exorcism done. She was at church and her and the preacher were good friends. She started to not feel well and asked her preacher to pray for her. The preacher then asked her to step up to the alter. He took out his cross and she stepped back and hissed and said that he was to put the cross away or else. The preacher attempted to call out her name "Carry" the preacher began..."that isn't my name" she replied in a deep demonic voice "I am Mark". My friend then ran down stairs because Mark was her father's name. She was later told about her mother's exorcism and learned that at the end of it a black cloud looking "thing" floated out the door of the church. All "Carry" remembered about the time that she was standing on the stage and being in a dark and hot chamber. She recalled being chained to the wall of the chamber and being surrounded by dark figures.
After my friend told me of her mother's exorcism, I haven't set foot in a church. That may sound crazy, But I hate the devil and anything "surrounding him". I still worship the Lord, but not publically such as in a church.

Let me tell you the facts to at least straighten out the truth. Any entity good or bad CANNOT intervine into a persons body. It will cause an instant demise of that person. Some entity can overpower a person's will that will cause the perception that the entity is within that person and that's when they think they are possesed. I hope that enlightened your misconseption of things a little bit. Carry didn't experience this all of a sudden, it took time to be engulfed and a zombie to that entity. Her body was trying to react to the outside force causing a partial amnesia and temperature rise. If she will tell the truth about the chamber, being chained and the devil...you will find out that all of that was her perception of things based on her upbringing and that it really didn't happen.
Now, can we say that the church will not protect you from the entity? You answer that but try not to convince people about the reality of things. To believe the Lord is more than plenty to have a safe passage to wherever. You don't have to be associated with the masses to get there because they DO NOT HAVE A HOT LINE TO THE LORD.
