I work on a State Hospital in Pennsylvania, which is 10 miles west of Reading, PA. The building I work in seems to have a spirit living there.

I was working at my desk and heard a noise behind me. When I turned around, my purse had moved from between a box and my trash can to under my chair at my desk. I also had my key laying on my desk and got up to leave my office and my keys slid off my desk to the floor, although they were approximately in the middle of my desk. We have also heard doors open and close and no one is there. We are installing a new phone system in the building and the "phone man" has heard whispering and no one is there and also foot steps and when he investigates to see who is coming down the hall, no one is there. He also put a plastic bag with his phone jacks in it, the bag is similar to a ziploc bag and was sealed. He heard a noise and when he turned around, one of the phone jacks was out of the bag, on the counter.

The reason I am writing is to find out how we (the spirit and our employees) can live together in peace. I did not feel threatened by the presence, only that they wanted us to know they were there. I don't feel afraid as I lived with a ghost in the house I grew up in. Although the presence has other employees unnerved.

Any information you could provide me on how to live with the spirit or background of the hospital would be helpful. I look forward to a reply.

Do you believe that there's more entities in a hospital than a cemetery? Your work place is haunted for a better use of word and if you have to work there, then you are stuck. Out of 32 entities, only 17 are doing mischievous things. Our suggestion, short of cleansing (exorcism), is to educate the people that work there. The entities do listen most of the time. Tell your fellow workers to be aware of the entities and if they sense the entities presence, to talk to the entities nicely and at times humor them. Explain to your fellow worker that these entities do not mean any harm, they just wanted to play. The more you accept the entities, the less encounters you will have because it is no longer a challenge for them anymore. Try that approach and let us know what happens.

Thanks for answering my e-mail. I have found out more about the hospital itself. We are not the only ones on the complex that have seen "something". About 25 senior citizens, who were wrapping toys for Christmas saw a gray shadow moving down a hallway and through a set of double doors (they were closed) and disappeared with a flash of bright light. When they went to investigate, all the lightbulbs in that area were burned out. Also, "rumor has it" that one patient hanged himself in another building. The building that is supposed to be the most "haunted" is the first building that was built on the complex, it is not in use today. I would like to go investigate, which is not a possibility because we aren't renting it, but I might walk over and just walk around the building on the outside.

I told "Fred" which is what we named our ghost, to knock it off and leave me alone. Nothing "strange" has happened since, I wish it would because I was kind of enjoying it. I say good morning every day when I come into the facility and have also left a sheet of paper on my desk every night with "What is your name?" written on it. No response yet, maybe he doesn't know how to write. I don't know about telling the other employees about the ghost, they will either think I've lost it or get really scared and quit. I doubt the hospital or the State of PA would be willing to pay for a cleansing. Honestly, I wouldn't want to work there at night by myself. Any more suggestions? Thanks Again!

There's no doubt that the area is infested with entities, just like any other hospital in the nation. The management, of course, will have their raised eyebrows when you mention this kind of thing to them and will probably ignore you. One way of passing the information is to write a statement concerning the matter and let the patient and the employee to sign it. You will be suprised, then forward the letter to management. For as long as they acknowledge grievances, they have to pay notice.

If the entities are releaseable, we can release them. The results will be astronomical for you and the rest of the people out there. If you can pass the approach, that you're doing to the entities, for those people and residences close to the hot areas, it will minimize the haunting.
