I was wondering what you think of my special gift. First, I must tell you a little about my history, then you may understand the whole situation a little better.

Eight days after I was born, my mother died. A year later, my dad remarried, and this stepmother help raise me. She was abusive, though, mentally and physically, so I had it rough growing up. I remember once praying to God to protect me from her. I even prayed once that if people were still able to see the future as in the Bible, and even read minds, that I might have this gift. Well, I noticed at about the age of twelve or thirteen, an extra sense I call "my gift."

My gift helped me in so many ways. I have gradually learned to use it to more effectively, but as early as I can first remember, I could always tell when she was going to come beat me or yell at me. It was as if a sudden gloom came over me, even before I heard a footstep from downstairs, coming to get me, as if the whole atmosphere changed and you have a sudden nausious feeling. This helped me to prepare myself. And if we were ever around other people and she could not take anything out on me, I could read her mind without even seeing a slight hint of negativity on her outward side.

I read your page on auras, yet I see none of these. I associate people with different colors (strange to me), projecting what type of mood they are in, but I never actually see an aura, or at least I don't think I do. I feel more of an energy than anything else. I cannot go into any great detail about the different energys, but I do associate these with a person's mood. For instance, I can associate black with those who are irratable, have hurts and pains inside, aren't pleasurable to be around, and most negative things. White is like a really nice person, angelic, or one who is having positive thought. I am not really sure about the other colors. And I do not just stare at a person and decide these things, it is almost always at first glance, without even getting a good look at them. And I do not judge by body postures, facial expressions, or anything that is on the outside.

Another part of my gift is the ability to read minds. I do not know if you saw the movie of "Lawnmower Man," but in that movie, this guy who is really slow is hooked up to a computer and he becomes more intelligent in the long run than any one on the planet. Well, anyway, in the middle of this computer hooking up thing, he happens to walk into a diner, and he has a seat. Well, he starts tripping out because of too much access to the computer (or whatever) and he starts hearing voices in his head. He looks around and they are the voices of what the people around him were actually saying in their head. Well, this is the same for me, and no, I am not schitzophrenic.

In high school, I was always down on myself because I thought that people thought I was a total geek (which they did), and one might have thought that I was paranoid for thinking these things, but I was actually hearing their voices from within their own minds. Once in college, I gained more control over it. I cannot do it for just anybody because I have to really want to do it, and there has to be a really good purpose for doing it. And yes, I am able to do it very well with strangers that I have never met, because I am sure that you are thinking along the lines that reading people is fairly easy, especially if you are familiar with them. Well, this is true, but you do not know what they are thinking. And I am not saying that I can know what they are thinking all the time, because that is invading a persons privacy.

This part of my gift come in handy. I am a good listner, and people come to me a lot, telling me about their problems. I help them out as best I can, but mainly because they cannot hide anything from me. A lot of times I can pinpoint whatever they are hiding to the exact thing that it is. And my fiance can never hide anything from me. With her as my witness, I can tell you that she can honestly tell you that I am not crazy, and that I really can read minds.

I studied a lot of psychology to try to learn more about my gift. At one time, I had decided that I was a paranoid schitzophrenic, but this was not anything evident at all, since my fiance had to live with her mother who was a paranoid schitzophrenic. She said that I am nothing like those who suffer from this, and that I show no signs in that I am this. She helped me to realize that this gift is real. Oh, and about people now, well, they don't think I am a geek anymore.

It's really cool though, because I can look at a person and know what they are thinking without them saying a word, and talk about what they are thinking, along those same lines they are thinking, and they will say, "That's funny! I was just thinking about that subject a second ago!" I never cease to amaze myself.

The last part of my gift is seeing the future. This is the weakest part of my gift. I definitely have no control over this. Sometimes I have been in bed asleep and had some frightening dreams, and they almost came true, had I not been alert that it was a warning to me. The other part of seeing the future is wierd. I usually do this in silent meditation outside, especially if I can be staring at a tree or wildlife, and a flowing stream. I will like, be staring at a tree or something and I will space out. To say perhaps a person there with me, I am just staring off into space, but in reality, I am seeing something. It is always an image with sound, as if it was a film that was viewed by me before it was time for that to actually happen. It is as if God says, "Look, here is what is going to happen," but I am never aware of when the thing that I see will happen. And of course, everything has happened that I have seen, except for one thing, and even if you do not print this on your web site, this has to be known to everyone possible.

The end of the world is not when you think it is (of course the Bible says this). Many think the world will end the year 2,000, and in fact, I have been scared of this myself, but I warn you, that it will not, but you should prepare for it anyway. I have no idea when it will end, but I have seen many people killing theirselves because it did not come, and they lost all their faith because of this and ended their lives. So be ready for it, but do not sell yourself short. Keep your faith.

If you have any suggestions on how to have more control on my gifts, or if I am just a total nut, then let me know.

It is very unusual for us to miss a gifted person like you. We can normally detect the presence of a gift even if the person is not even aware of it. However, in your case, we are unable to detect any sign of the gifts that you mentioned and therefore, are unable to assist you in your gift, of future events. Thanks for the inquiry.

I did not expect you to be able to detect any gifts. Yet, I know that these gifts exist, without the help of your gifts. I am rather shocked that you could not detect my gifts, because they are more than evident to myself, as well as my girlfriend. Upon hearing your news, I am sad to say that my girlfriend questioned your abilities to judge who has gifts and who does not. And I am sorry, my friend, but I wonder about your abilities also, because one of such a gift should be able to truly tell if another has a gift. I know a girl who has the gift of seeing auras, and I knew there was something different about her the first day I ever layed eyes on her, but I could not put my finger on it. I just knew that she had a gift. I talked with her many years later and she opened up to me about her gift, just out of the blue, and she asked me if I was aware that I had a special gift, and I told her I was, and she is the only other person on this planet that I personally know that has a gift, other than me.

I am not saying that there is nobody else gifted, because I know that this is false. But I challenge you to re-evaluate your decision on whether I have a gift or not. And to prove your point, whether you say I do or don't, show me signs that you are for real. For instance, tell me some things about myself that you do know from your gift. This would be very interesting to me. Please do not be offended, but I just want to know what you have to say about it.

We (of Otherplane), do not look for gifted persons. They inquire about a certain circumstance that promulgated the question of being gifted. Whether they are truly gifted or just beginning to realize their gift, we simply told them. Now on your part, you could very well be gifted and we are not questioning that. We are merely telling you that we cannot detect the presence of your gift. We do not intend to pacify every person who claim that they are gifted - we don't even question that. If they are gifted and we cannot detect their gift, then they must be something special that even we could not detect. We simply tell it like it is. We scanned you again today and we came up with the same result - Sorry.

I thank you for answering my letter. I am not offended that you cannot detect my gift. You have given your honest opinion, to the best of your abilities, and I respect that, now out of the greatest respect. I only wish that I could gain further information on this subject, in order to better understand it, and to perhaps use it more fluently. Thank you for your time and patience, and I will keep in touch with your web page in order to learn more of the mystical things that people come in contact with and experience. Deepest apologies.
