My grandmother died about 3 years ago. About 2 years ago I believe she came to me in a dream. In this dream she appeared to be a jewelry counterperson dressed in all red, with a red wide brimmed hat. She asked me if I wanted to see something in the counter. I pointed to saphire earings. I later found out that these earings were left to me in her will but were stolen by another family member. She told me goodbye and that she would always be around me. I woke up and swear I could smell her and feel her in the room with me. I haven't had a dream of her since. Was it really her or was it just my subconsious? Thank you.

She did come to you in your dream to relate something that was meant for you and since that didn't happen, she appeared in your dream as a reminder that she still cares for you. If that is just a regular dream than the feelings and the smell would not be there. Be happy.
