Fri, 28 Nov 97: Reader writes.
I am writing to inquire on a building and its property located in San Francisco. I wouldn't call myself a psychic or anything like that, but I feel things and am susceptible to ghost encounters, as a matter of fact, most of my family is.
There is one place in particular called The Cannery. It is a huge building with many stores and museums and resturants inside of it. One night my mother, my husband and I were there (just getting away from kids, work, etc.) and were walking toward the building. When we were across the street from it I began to feel queasy, sort of sick to my stomach and weak. As soon as we got to the other side of the street, where the right corner of the building is located, my mother said, "I hate this place!".
I told her I felt odd too. My husband stopped to buy something from a vendor and he was perfectly fine. I walked around the side to a door where light was coming from the bottom. As I got closer to the door, I felt sicker. It was such an unnatural, unexplainable feeling. If I stood there for a while, it was as if I could feel this numbing cold around my neck. I was scared, yet extremely interested at the same time.
We strolled through the courtyard behind the building and I told my mom I still felt odd. She said that it was still part of The Cannery. I decided I should leave, so we went up an elevator to the second floor. As I walked out of the elevator, I almost threw up, I felt so weird. We then walked down some stairs and I had to be held up by my husband. My knees were buckling and I was gagging. The feeling dissipated the further we got away from the area, but it did not leave for quite some time.
Some interesting features are the twisted trees and bushes in the courtyard and vicinity, they look mishapen. The outside of the building has symbols of stars with a circle around them. None of the stars are upright, they are all slanted.
I've done a little research about the place but haven't turned up any leads. I'd appreciate any information on the history of the place and/or why I feel as I do around it. I also get the same sick feeling when I go to a thrifty store in Hayward, California, but the sick feeling is not as bad as The Cannery.

The building materials, twisted trees in the courtyard and the encircled star symbol has nothing to do with what you and your mom experienced, however..... The outcome of our investigation concerning The Cannery, you and your mother's experience totally surprised us as I'm sure you and your mother will be too.
_________________________________________________________________________It is around 1923, on an early morning when four males (15, 15, 16 and 22 years of age), were waiting on the pier for the fishing boat to come in. These four young men were to assist in the off-loading of fish from the boat and move the fish to The Cannery (a fish processing enterprise during that time). The boat was owned by a commercial fishing company, and the skipper of the fishing boat had two daughters (ages 7 and 9).
On this particular morning, the four young men not only waited for the boat's arrival, but also for the two daughters of the fishing boat skipper. The girls often waited for their father (the skipper) at dockside. Their mother had left them and their father after the youngest was born. One of the 15 year old males, often watched over the two girls when their father was at sea.
As the girls approached the dockside, they recognized the 15 year old who often looked after them. The girls knew that the four young men were waiting for their father's boat to arrive and help with the unloading of fish, and did not have any fear of them. Their father (the skipper) would pay them for their work. The boys however, had other ideas and the girls would soon meet their death (after being raped). Their bodies would be taken into The Cannery and deposited into the processor that ground up the discarded fish parts, into animal food. The young men then went back to the pier to await the boat's arrival.
When the boat arrived, the skipper did not suspect that anything was amiss with his daughters, because they were not there to meet him. There were mornings when the girls would sleep in. The four young men assisted in the unloading and delivery of the fish to The Cannery. However, the young men had already come to the conclusion that when the skipper found his two daughters missing, the four of them would become suspects and therefore, had to kill the skipper as well.
Upon approaching The Cannery, they made their move and killed the skipper. The skipper's body was also taken to the same area as the girls and disposed of in the same manner. Now the three bodies would be ground up along with fish parts and no one would be able to find any evidence.
When the disappearance of the skipper and his two daughters were reported, the police questioned everyone in the area (including the four young men) and because nothing of the three bodies could be found, no foul play was indicated and the case was closed.
________________________________________________________________________The girls mother left the skipper and two daughters because she was dissatisfied. She is still alive today (in her 90's) and living somewhere in the San Francisco area.
The skipper and his two daughters, are not in heaven and are roaming the area of The Cannery. It is the 7 year old daughter that randomly selects a female or females in an attempt to take out her anger on them. The reason for this behavior is attributed toward the dislike that the 7 year old has toward her mother (for leaving them). They are unhappy (especially the 7 year old) and want to be released. They are not releaseable (even by us) unless their mother by chance reads or hears this story and visits The Cannery to ask for forgiveness, or dies before she is able to ask for their forgiveness.
The four young men are now dead but they also are not in heaven. These four are not releaseable.
Because the reader and her mother share similar telepathic gift or wavelengths (like twins do), the mother was targeted by the 7 year old. The reader happened to absorb the brunt of the 7 year old's anger, that was received through her mother. This gift was passed from the reader's grandfather to his daughter (reader's mother), and to her daughter (the reader).
