Phase II... took us further east. This phase was our primary reason for making the trip... and we would spend some time at this location. We would get a first-hand look at the area of interest, scan the area for the targets that we seeked and begin digging.
The targets were located in two separate areas... gold nuggets and artifacts in one area, and gold bars and more artifacts in another. A decision was made to recover the gold nuggets first since it seemed the easiest to recover.
Digging was labor intensive and time consuming. We were soon running out of time (alotted for this phase), and if we didn't recover the treasure, we would have to seal the entrance (of our hole) and return some other time. At the end of our alotted time, we did not reach our intended target and had to close the hole.
A scan of the progress of our digging effort, confirms that we are on target... and the treasure is still there. We will return. But for now, it is time to move on to our next phase (III).
