Sam and I, (along with a friend from Taiwan), headed on our first phase of a multi-purpose trip. The first phase was to meet up with two men to confirm whether the target and location was still there and accessible to for walking around and possible recovery.
Arriving a few miles from the target area, we stopped to use our dowsing device to locate the direction of the target area. The two men were waiting at a designated campground for us when we got there. In the morning we would proceed to the target location.
According to our maps, the area appears to be "marsh lands". Whether these marsh lands contained water or were dry, we didn't know. Prior to undertaking on this trip, map drawings sent to us for dowsing. Dowsing/Scanning the drawings revealed to us that a "underground-like cavern was directly below and ran for several hundred feet. It further revealed "gold bars" stored in one area of the underground cavern. The entrance was now covered over into the underground cavern, but the depth measurements indicated that this shallowest and only way into the underground cavern.
On the way to the target location, we stopped to take direction readings to insure that we were still headed in the right direction. Arriving at the target location, the marsh lands revealed itself and excitement and enticipation grew. However, we were presented with a surprise and a dilemma.
Scanning the area with our dowsing device, the target location, the underground cavern, the entrance and the gold bars was confirmed. Sitting adjacent to our area of interest, (approximately 100 yards away), was a "Correctional Institution" and it didn't take a rocket scientist to know that cameras and people within those walls were now watching us. If we attempted to take pictures or venture out into the open field toward the target location, we would surely be met by someone and questioned. We had no other choice other than to make the decision to abandon and write-off this project. The map that we had did not indicate any building or mention of a "Correctional Institution".
Disappointed, we turned our backs and headed away from the area, locate a campground for the night and discuss other target locations along our route toward the next phase of our trip. After checking into a campground, the rest of the day and night was spent looking over maps and material (brought by the two men). A target location was choosen and in the morning, we would check-out of the campground and head to the target location.
The next morning, we were following the two men (in the lead vehicle), and they somehow missed the turn-off toward the target location. When they realized their error, we were 70 miles south of where we should have been (but 70 miles in the direction of the second phase of our trip). It was suggested that we turn around and head back but that was nixed by us... it would mean going 70 miles north again and then the same 70 miles south when we were finished, and headed toward and on to the second phase. It was decided that possibly another trip would take place toward the end of summer.
